Gothic Product Information: All our gothic jewelry is made of fine English pewter and are made in Sheffield, England by master craftsmen, who are members of The Worshipful Company of Pewterers. One advantage of these pewter items, is that they do not need regular polishing to maintain its gorgeous appearance. Pewter jewelry does not tarnish like silver jewelry. To keep your gothic jewelry bright and shiny, an occasional cleaning with a quality proprietary metal polish will keep it looking brilliant. The metal used in the manufacture of all Alchemy's pewter products is the highest grade, 92% tin alloy, (to BSS5140 standard), known as "English Pewter". Some manufacturers misleadingly use the term 'pewter' to describe alloys containing lead. This results in inferior, more easily made products which are heavier, softer and of a darker colour, and are much more prone to tarnishing and disfigurement. This WILL NOT happen with Alchemy Gothic jewelry. |
Lucrezia's Poison Locket Pendant Taken directly from the 1515 Veneziano painting of Lucrezia Borgia, this is Lucrezia’s Poison Locket, an item she frequently adorned herself with both for beauty and utility, as it possesses a hidden compartment, perfect to hold poisons. A cruel women by polite standards, she was rumored to have a penchant for poison and murder, in her day. None-the-less, her locket is a beautiful item. Shaped into a simple cross with a small box at its center, the locket is stylishly adorned with no shortage of decoration. Four skulls rest at the corners of the central box, and at the tip of each of the cross’s points is a crystal; the top and bottom are vibrant crimson and the left and right are black. At the locket’s heart is a fifth crystal, colored a brighter shade of red. And the final touch is the central box: it opens, as a hidden compartment, for one to hide anything they want inside, although with such limited space, one can only imagine what is worth hiding there...
