Gothic Product Information: All our gothic jewelry is made of fine English pewter and are made in Sheffield, England by master craftsmen, who are members of The Worshipful Company of Pewterers. One advantage of these pewter items, is that they do not need regular polishing to maintain its gorgeous appearance. Pewter jewelry does not tarnish like silver jewelry. To keep your gothic jewelry bright and shiny, an occasional cleaning with a quality proprietary metal polish will keep it looking brilliant. The metal used in the manufacture of all Alchemy's pewter products is the highest grade, 92% tin alloy, (to BSS5140 standard), known as "English Pewter". Some manufacturers misleadingly use the term 'pewter' to describe alloys containing lead. This results in inferior, more easily made products which are heavier, softer and of a darker colour, and are much more prone to tarnishing and disfigurement. This WILL NOT happen with Alchemy Gothic jewelry. |
Ruthven Cross Pendant The Ruthven’s Cross pendant is a faith-cross for Lord Ruthven, a pernicious character from the heart of John William Polidori’s 1816 short story, The Vampyre. Elegantly simple and darkly designed, this cross is the perfectly nonsensical faith-item for a vampyre to possess. The bottom of this cross is capped with pewter, etched in a fashion that looks both leaf-like as well as gothic. This cap leads into a black shaft that rises up into the upper section of the cross; the top pewter cap is singular circle, set with a four-sectioned clover of sorts, with a black sphere at its heart. From the left and right sides of the circular center are two bat-wings, the “arms” of the cross itself. The top of the cap is a vaguly blade-like diamond, with a cross softly scratched into the center. Hung from a simple chain, the Ruthven’s Cross pendant is a darkly gothic cross that is sure to please any nightstalker who still finds time for faith.
