Gothic Product Information: All our gothic jewelry is made of fine English pewter and are made in Sheffield, England by master craftsmen, who are members of The Worshipful Company of Pewterers. One advantage of these pewter items, is that they do not need regular polishing to maintain its gorgeous appearance. Pewter jewelry does not tarnish like silver jewelry. To keep your gothic jewelry bright and shiny, an occasional cleaning with a quality proprietary metal polish will keep it looking brilliant. The metal used in the manufacture of all Alchemy's pewter products is the highest grade, 92% tin alloy, (to BSS5140 standard), known as "English Pewter". Some manufacturers misleadingly use the term 'pewter' to describe alloys containing lead. This results in inferior, more easily made products which are heavier, softer and of a darker colour, and are much more prone to tarnishing and disfigurement. This WILL NOT happen with Alchemy Gothic jewelry. |
Venetian Mask of Death Reflecting the elaborate, dramatic style of the 16th century, the Venetian Mask of Death gives a glimpse of the face of death itself, in a truly Baroque fashion. Highly stylized, with dramatic flairs and curves, this pendant is little more than a simple skull, given a new twist. Elegant and flowing, the lines of the skull are elongated past their point of termination, brought out into new twists and turns, until the design that remains is still skull-like, but now, rendered wholly new by virtue of a re-imagined design. Truly a mask of death, this skull is elegantly terrifying, in its own way, and detailed down to the very last part. And to add character to the already intriguing metamorphosis, a single red crystal rests beneath the skull’s teeth, held in-place by one of the very swooping lines that have been drawn out to re-imagine this face of death. Were it not so small, the Venetian Mask of Death would make a perfect Halloween mask, if not a true piece of art, to be worn during actual masquerade balls. From the bottom of the pewter piece is a hanging, stylized piece reminiscent of a stake, set with a style obsidian crystal.
