The lowbrow art movement popped up in Southern California during the late 1970's.  Most commonly referred to a "pop surrealism," lowbrow clothing has yet to find it's way into marbled halls of "fine art" and that's just fine with them! 

Lowbrow launched in early 2008 and offers some of today's most cutting edge art for clothing, your body and your walls.

"I am a lowbrow horror artist and tattoo artist from Montreal.
I am mostly known for creating works that condone the sin of vanity; by juxtapozing beautiful pinups and high society dames with dark subject matters such as disentegration, death and resurection.
Inspired by the enchanting visuals of costume history, religious Renaissance art, baroque art and the living dead, I take great joy in drawing beautiful women in dramatic outfits, decorated with bizarre millinery and taxidermy, all of which are either deathly pale and bleeding or rotting in the shades of green and grey.
After studying costume history on my own terms and art history in class, I couldn't help but obsess over the originality and intensity of these two arts. With my already existing fascination with zombies and their bloodshot eyes, and their unsatiable hunger for flesh and brains, it felt natural to mix all these inspirations into my creations."
